Recently, an anonymous post was posted on Facebook, shaming their friend for driving a Proton Wira.
In the post, the user asked:
“Would you mind the kind of car your friend drives? I met a friend who comes from a low income family, and they’re really nice. They would even offer me a ride when I’m in trouble, the only issue is that they drive a Proton Wira. It’s so embarrassing that I don’t even dare to get in the car! They asked me out but I rejected, I really mind that they only drive a Proton Wira.”
Many netizens were unhappy with the way the user was looking down at the kind friend.
Here’s what some of the netizens said:
“You should be grateful that your friend is willing to fetch you, they have to leave their house earlier and they’re always the last to go home.”
“It’s just a friend… why does it matter what car they drive?”
“If you wanna look down on them, you better make sure you can afford a car by yourself.”
“If you look down on them then you should just drive your own car.”
“Better if you don’t take your friend’s car, they don’t need a friend like you.”
“This isn’t a considered as a friend, you should stay away from them.”
As social media users, we’d occasionally stumble across different types of ‘confessions’ on Facebook. Some may be serious, amusing, or outright ridiculous. As it’s an anonymous post, we also remind everyone to take it with a pinch of salt.
