As Malaysians, one of our favourite ways to enjoy our cold, icy drinks is by having them tied at the side (ikat tepi), best served in a bowl. With the heatwave that we have to brace through right now, even the imagination of Teh Ais Ikat Tepi in a bowl sounds soothing.
A Malaysian in KL recently (and unfortunately) got the shock of his life when his drink was served in a plastic vase.
The man, Hairul ordered Teh O’ Ice Ikat Tepi, which he expected to be served in a bowl before the drink came in a plastic vase. Hairul’s appetite turned off when he noticed the plastic vase was not only dirty but also smelled bad.
“My drink came in a dirty plastic vase, and it smelled like garbage,” Hairul said in his Facebook post.
He revealed that the restaurant is located somewhere in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras.
Now, if you take a close look at the images below, the vase is clearly dirty and has some stains and mud. Aside from plantations, we wonder what else has been used with the vase. Or is serving drinks in a plastic vase a trend that we’re missing right now?
“How could they mislook hygiene issue like this?” Hairul questioned.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Hairul said that he does not compromise with hygiene issues as he takes the matter seriously. However, he did not bring up the matter with the employees of the restaurant.
“It’s going to be another issue if I bring the matter up,” Hairul told WORLD OF BUZZ.
He added that nothing much would be done if he spoke to the employees of the restaurant about it, and believes that it should be the responsibility of all restaurant operators to take hygiene issues seriously.
“The damage has been done, so I proceeded by taking actions.”
Macam mana la kedai makan boleh terlepas pandang isu kebersihan macam ni. Order teh o ais mangkuk tapi sampai dalam pasu…
