“The fried rice would be left untouched since everyone is already full”
The person pointed out that at wedding dinners, by the time the fried rice is served, many guests would’ve already started leaving or mingling, leaving the dish untouched.
They added that serving the fried rice last would be too late since everyone would already be full from the earlier dishes.
“I don’t get why Chinese restaurant set menus always serve fried rice at the end. By then, it’s late and everyone’s already full. At wedding dinners, it’s even worse because some guests have already left or are busy chatting, so the fried rice just sits there untouched,” they said.

The person described the practice as “wasteful,” noting that hotels usually don’t let guests take home leftover food.
“Why not serve the rice after the soup instead? That way, we can enjoy it together with the fish, chicken, veggies, and all the other dishes. I’ve been thinking about this for years, finally found the right place to rant about it,” they said.
Netizens started flooding the comment section with their thoughts.
