Children are mirrors, reflecting images of what happens around them. This also makes them perfect mirrors of their parents. They can easily pick up on the little things adults do, be it good or bad.
Recently, a Malaysian mum, Charlene Yee, took to her Facebook to share one of her daughter’s homework. The homework was for her eight-year-old daughter to construct sentences with the theme, “I love my family”.
But, when it came to describing her father, Charlene did not expect her daughter’s reply to be ever-so accurate!
There were four sentences that Charlene’s daughter constructed by herself:
1. My home consists of my father, mother, older sister, younger sister, younger brother and me.
2. Every day, my older sister and younger sister will accompany me to play
3. My mother does house chores every day. I help my mother too.
When it came to the last sentence, Charlene had a good laugh. So did everyone else!
“4. My father is always on his phone when he is at home.”
Charlene’s posts garnered over 2,300 shares, 1,300 likes in just a few days!
Netizens flooded the comment section expressing how they adored her daughter’s innocence and of course, some teased the father.
Another netizen commented, “little kids won’t lie,” and we could not agree more!
Charlene replied to the netizen’s comment to clarify that her husband does help out in household chores such as mopping the floor and washing plates after meals.
Don’t worry dad! We know there’s more that you do for your family than what meets the eye!
