For those of you who had protective parents growing up, you’d be familiar with the dreaded feeling of attending a parent teacher’s meeting where your teachers get interrogated on every move you made in school. If you think that was hard on you, just imagine what a nightmare it must’ve been for your teachers. Their jobs are never easy, particularly because they have to deal with the expectations of demanding parents everyday.
One such kindergarten teacher recently had to deal with the wrath of an expectant mum when she came under fire from the parent for not washing her son’s tupperware after he finished eating.
In a Facebook post that is now removed, a netizen shared screenshots of the rude mum lecturing the poor teacher on what she expected the educator to do: “Wash it! oh my goodness. Why are you so lazy? Don’t talk about whether they pay you to wash dishes. Just do it out of sincerity.”
According to the Reporter, the outraged mum even had the audacity to threaten her son’s teacher, “Don’t make me embarrass you. I can make a lot of complains and expose you in our parents Whatsapp group. I can report you as a teacher with no manners!”
Finding no response from the innocent teacher, she took to the main kindergarten Whatsapp group to provoke an answer from both parents and teachers.
But instead of getting some support, this rude mum was exposed by the kindergarten teacher’s child on Facebook:
“Wow. Does she think my mother is a housework laborer? She’s just a kindergarten teacher. You think it’s the teacher’s responsibility to settle everything your child does?”
“It’s parents with behaviour like this that make their kids hopeless. You haven’t even taught your child how to use the toilet without peeing their pants but expect teachers to help your children to this extent. Tupperware also you want the teacher to wash.”
In the post, the netizen explained that while the kindergarten provides meals for the kids, some parents pack food for their children if they have allergies or are picky eaters. Nonetheless, parents should be more understanding of how many responsibilities teachers have on their plate.
Teachers deserve more respect than what they’re given! What do you guys think of this?
