In a recent video circulating online, shared by @mynewshub, a heated argument took a violent turn when a man shattered a parcel delivery driver’s car window with a motorcycle helmet.
On August 22nd in Kajang, the 25-year-old delivery driver claimed that he was verbally abused and threatened, and had his vehicle’s window shattered by an unknown man.
In the video, the delivery driver can be heard warning the suspect that if he tried anything, the driver would have no choice but to report him to the police, as the incident was being recorded.
This angered the suspect, who then got off his motorcycle, approached the driver’s car, and after a heated argument, smashed the driver’s window.
The suspect had 2 prior records
Thanks to information received from the public and swift action by the Kajang Criminal Investigation Division, the male suspect was successfully apprehended in the Kajang area.
According to a statement, the 54-year-old had 2 prior records, and the police also managed to seize the weapon (the helmet) that was used during the incident.
The suspect was taken into custody for 4 days
The suspect is now remanded for 4 days until August 26 to complete the investigation and determine the exact cause of the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the suspect could face at least a year in prison, up to 5 years, a fine, or both.
The Kajang District Police advise the public to remain calm when dealing with problems and avoid doing anything that could violate Malaysian law.
