“A love like this happens but once in a lifetime.” – Clint Eastwood

A 65-year-old man in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan continues to buy food for his wife, but according to his children, the man of the house may have forgotten that his wife passed away on 16th May due to pneumonia.

“He may have forgotten about the death. But when he looked at our mother’s bed, he cried,” the 27-year-old daughter said.

“My dad does not cry easily”

According to Harian Metro, the daughter, Siti Nur Aqirah said that her father is not someone who cries easily, and while the death in the house has been tough for everyone, it’s still a torment to her father, who spent 40 years with the love of his life.

“It’s not that he hasn’t accepted her death, but it takes time to mourn,” Siti explained.

Her mother fell ill 7 years ago and since then, everyone took turns to take care of the bedridden woman who was diagnosed with a stroke. Siti said that her father has never left her mother for a day, and he had been helping her with daily tasks due to her limited movement, including buying her food.

“A day after mom was gone, dad continues to buy food for her as usual. Maybe he forgot that mother was gone.”

As of today, Siti said that her father is slowly recovering.

“We don’t leave him alone. I think he got better because the grandchildren and other family members have been here spending time with him,” Siti said.

She added that her father has been visiting his wife’s grave every morning. Siti’s mother was 60 when she passed away.

Grieving is not something you can get over in a day and the journey to acceptance is not easy, especially if you have spent half of your life with the person who left. Cherish those who are still with you as time waits for no one.
