“God could not be everywhere, therefore He made mothers” – Rudyard Kipling

We often declare our “unconditional love” towards our partner, but little do we know, some of us may have neglected the real unconditional love that has been surrounding us our whole life – a mother’s love. A recent story in China perfectly illustrates how unconditional a mother’s love can be.

A man recently uploaded a short clip that shows his mother cooking in the kitchen. Cooking is usually what mothers do but the major story behind the short clip is what may break your heart to pieces.

My mother’s last meal

The son revealed that his mother has been diagnosed with cancer since February this year, and due to chemotherapy, his mother appears tired and unwell. But her condition did not stop her from working hard in the kitchen.

She knew that she was living on borrowed time, and it was just a matter of time before her death comes knocking, so she spent the last moments of her life preparing the very last meal for her son. Her son knows how strong of a woman his mother is.

“My mother is a strong person. She had never said anything even when she is in pain, and she always tries to be strong in front of me.”

When the video was taken, the son was in the living room. He couldn’t help but tear as he witnesses his mother cooking the last meal.

“After she had finished cooking, she was very short of breath and she took a long break.”

The meal was delicious as always, as told by her son, and he finished everything without leftovers. Sin Chew reported that his mother passed away in mid-October. As for the last meal, he said that the meal and the moment will remain in his heart forever.

Life is full of surprises and we never know what fate has in store for us. If your old folks are still with you, do spend more quality time with them. A mother’s love is forever irreplaceable.
