This is really dangerous! Malaysia has many expressways that we use frequently but this woman received the shock of her life recently when she was on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE).
According to Sinchew, Yang, a 39-year-old lady was in her car going to pick up her child when she entered the NKVE from Damansara on April 27. Shortly after she was on the NKVE at around 5pm, she encountered a freak accident when an iron rod pierced her car’s windshield and almost killed her. OMG!
When Sinchew interviewed her, she said that the iron rod measured about three feet in length and had seemingly appeared out of nowhere before hitting her car. The rod had pierced the glass on the windscreen and struck her on her forehead, causing a wound about the size of a 20-sen coin.
Yang said she did not feel much pain, only a slight dizziness and had stopped at the emergency lane to assess her injuries. Thinking that it was just a flesh wound, she drove herself to the hospital to get a check-up. However, after the doctor assessed her wounds, they discovered that she had fractured her frontal bone and had to go for an operation to remove any remaining debris.
Luckily, her condition was stable after her surgery and the doctor said that she is recovering well. When asked, Yang said that she hadn’t been paying attention so she did not notice whether there were any construction work going on nearby, which might have caused the freak accident.
Several netizens who saw Yang’ injuries said that she was very lucky to have survived and some said that the rod could have been from the many lorries using NKVE. The lorry’s load might have loosened a bit and thus sent the rod flying. She said that she would lodge a police report and also asked other Malaysians to be careful whenever they’re on the road.
Thank goodness she is fine now!
