It’s no secret that Malaysians dislike going to government offices to tend to whatever business they have there as it often involves waiting around due to there being a lack of staff presence.

And now, one Malaysian woman, who apparently works as an office staff for the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), is feeling the heat after she publicly shared how she “goes for karaoke every Friday” because her “lunch break is basically 3 hours”.

Netizen, Izwan Izzat, took to his Twitter page to showcase screenshots from the woman’s TikTok post (which has since been deleted), where she admitted to going for karaoke every Friday due to her apparent 3 hour lunch break at her DOSM office job which she allegedly got through connections.

Izwan Izzat wrote, “How do you get a government job? This is how.”

“It’s so fortunate for female civil servants to rest on Fridays for 3 hours until they can go for karaoke because men have to go for Friday prayers. I want a government job as well but I don’t have any connections.”

In the woman’s TikTok post, she admitted in the comment section that she was given the job at DOSM because she has a ‘connection’.

That ‘connection’ was later revealed to be her mother who also works there.
