Cancer is a disease that takes away a lot from a person. This woman, however, was so determined that she beat cancer twice, as reported by Star 2!
Navi Indran Pillai, a 29-year-old from Shah Alam, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 when she was just 22 years old.
She had to put her dreams of becoming a classical Indian dancer on hold because she needed to undergo treatments to battle cancer.
In about a year, she managed to beat it. So, she left to Australia to pursue her studies.
However, in 2018, she found out that the breast cancer that she had was metastatic, which means that it’s the kind of cancer that will spread. The cancer cells had spread to her liver and backbone.
She then underwent another round of treatment for it, but this time, it almost broke her. The keyword here is almost as she was so determined to get better, she was able to beat it for the second time.
Fast forward to today, and she is doing way better now, and she’s also cancer-free – but she needs to undergo life-long treatment to stay that way.
The treatment is quite expensive, and since she doesn’t want to burden her family, she has decided to dance on a stage to fund her medical expenses. Her dance performance, Dhanvantrim Nruthyam #kissedbycancer, will be held on 12th Oct at the Shantanand Auditorium, Temple of Fine Arts, Kuala Lumpur.

That is such an inspiring story. We hope that this story will be able to give hope to people that need it! Let’s end this with a quote by Navi,
“I have cancer, but it’s not the end of the world. I’m fighting for my life, but I’m going to live my life to the fullest.”
