Since my mother tongue is Bahasa Malaysia, it was definitely intimidating for me because I never spoke English outside of school. Nowadays, I’ve been playing a lot of Dota 2 and I found that it requires me to problem-solve quickly and strategise my every move in order to win the game. Not only that, but it also improved my teamwork, patience and most importantly perseverance. 4. Source of income
“People around me would always tell me I’m wasting time and money whenever I play games. But what they don’t know is that you can actually turn it into a source of income! There are two main ways you can earn money through games, either from joining e-sports tournaments or through streaming on platforms such as Twitch. For me, I have developed a bit of a following through Twitch and even though I’m not a full-time gamer, it does help me to make a steady side income!” – JB, 28
5. Hand-eye coordination
“Having good hand-eye coordination is the most fundamental skill of being a good gamer and it is something that I’ve picked up naturally after years of playing games. Sadly, I think most people underestimate just how important this skill is, not just in gaming but also in real life. 6. Technical skills
“To be a good gamer, of course, you need to invest in a good gaming setup.
