Food quality is not the only thing that both customers and restaurant operators should be aware of, but also the hygiene and the preparation process.

To find some pests resting comfortably in our food is not a new occurrence but it shouldn’t justify the ‘findings.’ Recently, on her TikTok post, a Malaysian shared a video of an ‘unusual finding’ in the packaging of the rolls that she bought.

A fly? A cockroach? It’s neither, but it’s equally bad, or possibly worse to some.

Just after she got home and decided to munch on the rolls, she noticed a HUGE brown lizard resting comfortably inside the box, just next to the pastry. EW!

To make things worse, she stated in her caption that the lizard was only spotted after she had taken a few bites. YIKES!

Given the colour of the packaging and where the lizard stayed hidden, it is quite a ‘blink-and-you-miss-it’ kind of situation.

You can watch the full clip here.

It didn’t take long for the video to go viral on social media and at the time of writing, the video has garnered more than 140,000 views. Malaysians have also commented and expressed their disgust with what they saw.

‘That thing always appears in unexpected places. The toaster, freezer, couch.’

‘I STRAIGHT AWAY dropped my phone hahah!’

‘I would’ve thrown the food away. That’s disgusting.’

‘This is so tough to even look at.’

Do you think the lizard found its way into the package on the way home, or do you think it has been there all the time? What would you do if you were to spot a lizard in your food?
