In public speaking or when you’re giving a speech, a script will always make things easier if you’re expected to host the event. You don’t necessarily have to follow the script but it’s merely a tool for you to figure out the flow of your speech and the event itself.
What if you burn the midnight oil to prepare the script and you have it ready with you right before your turn to speak, and you lose it before the important event? As a Malaysian emcee, Zhiddin Aziz managed to remain calm when his emcee script was accidentally taken away by the person who spoke before him, as shown in his recent TikTok clip, @zhiddinaziz.
After a quick prayer recital, the man took away his documents without realising that he had accidentally taken Zhiddin’s emcee script. When Zhiddin noticed that his script was not present, Zhiddin remained calm and started his speech by addressing the audience with a poem, as if he never needed a script.
Despite feeling nervous without his script, Zhiddin managed to hide his emotion and while addressing the audience, he laid out his left hand and “signaled” the person who spoke before him to return his script. He remained calm as if nothing happened and did not stutter, and his attention on the audience was not distracted, at all.
His confidence right there, is what we all want in a situation like this.
Those who are inexperienced or have stage fright would have apologised and the hall might have experienced an awkward silence by now.
As expected, netizens were impressed by Zhiddin’s professionalism and ability to remain calm despite having his script away for a bit.
“You are so professional. I wouldn’t be able to control my nervousness if that happened to me.”
“I would’ve followed the man who took my script.”
