A Malaysian man is accusing a phone repair store of violating his privacy by allegedly accessing the hidden gallery folder on his phone while replacing his phone’s LCD screen.
The man, @dekk.mar, took to his TikTok account to call out the phone repair store for this apparent situation.

The staff allegedly wanted to check if his camera was faulty
He wrote, “At about 7pm, I went to a phone repair store at Alam Sentral, Shah Alam, to replace my spoiled LCD screen, and I believed that this store would provide me with the best service. But, I did not expect the staff would invade my privacy, which they shouldn’t be doing.”
“After giving them my (phone’s) password, the staff broke into my phone’s gallery with the excuse that they wanted to see the latest picture to check if my camera was broken or not. But, my question is, why did the staff have to go so far as to open my hidden folder without asking me in advance?”

In the heat of confronting the store’s staff, he admitted that he shouted and used unsavoury words as he felt that their accessing his gallery’s hidden folder shouldn’t have happened at all.
Be careful!
Believing that the move could be an attempt to hack into his phone or scam him, he feels the need to warn the general public about this incident.
“To those who require phone repair services in this building, please be careful. There’s a high chance that your phone will be hacked or you will be scammed. I’m making this video so that customers who come here will be more careful and vigilant with their phones. There may be more victims after this.”

He also shared that the store staff provided him with freebies upon realising that they were in the wrong.
“After they realised that I knew (that they accessed the hidden folder), one of them then wanted to repair my phone in front of me in real time, and another staff member, who felt guilty, gave me free things like tempered glass and camera lenses,” he added.
What would you have done if you were in his shoes? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
