Dear LRT users, today was hectic, right? And it’s not even noon yet.
According to RapidKL’s official announcement, the LRT Ampang line is scheduled to have delays from May 19 until May 28 for track maintenance works.
“Trains will be moving at slower speed from LRT Sentul to LRT Titiwangsa and dwell at each station for longer period.”
Despite the announcement, the LRT Kelana Jaya line seems to be experiencing unforeseen delays too, with the train users stuck at each station for at least 20 minutes. A train user told WORLD OF BUZZ that he boarded the train at the SS15 station at 7:10AM today (May 23), and he only got to Kelana Jaya station at 8:20AM.
That was more than an hour for a journey that will usually take only 15 minutes.
“I had to take Grab to my workplace in Mid Valley as I was tired for standing more than an hour. The air-cond in the LRT was not working well too,” the user told WORLD OF BUZZ.
RapidKL also took the time to keep the train users updated on the schedule and according to them, the Kelana Jaya line suffered major delays due to service disruption.
“Trains are driven manually from Kelana Jaya to Taman Bahagia, and will stop at each station for a long time.”
The team immediately deployed the technicians for maintenance work and by 9.50AM, RapidKL announced the end of the service disruption.
“The issue has been rectified and we are regulating the train schedules now.”
“Compensations, please!”
Many stuck users took the opportunity to vent their dissatisfaction at the comment sections, and many of them were stuck at the station for 30 minutes. Some also asked for compensations as they had to resort to another alternative to work which cost them more.
“It’s one thing that the train is stopping at each station for a long time. I can’t even feel the air-cond. Is this an early morning sauna experience?”
To those who are affected, have you made it to your workplace? Let’s hope we don’t have to endure another delay during the next peak hour today when we’re headed home!
