Mentally Ill Man Fired By Sibu Boss, Gets So Angry That He Sets Car Ablaze

A man struggling with mental health issues was found in a dangerous situation when he set a car on fire. The man, who was identified as an Indonesian, was travelling earlier today in Sarikei before this unfortunate incident took place.

According to an article published by The Star, this incident happened at KM20, along the Sarikei Sibu road situated near the Second Nyelong Bridge. The man from Sambas, Indonesia was freshly fired due to his alleged mental health issues at his workplace. Following the firing, the man set a car on fire.

Prior to this, the man had been working in an oil palm plantation in Sibu. However, the car he was travelling in, which is an MPV, was registered in Indonesia. Sarikei OCPD Supt Awang Arfian Awang Bujang stated that he was on his way home after being fired when all this took place.

“Arriving at a place, the man suddenly took out a match and set fire to the vehicle,” said the Sarikei OCPD. The struggling man was then detained and will be referred to the hospital for further investigation. 

The Sarikei Fire and Rescue Department required 11 firemen to extinguish the fire that had completely destroyed the vehicle in the span of 25 minutes.
