An incident in Taman Jaya Mas, Johor Bahru, has given the term ‘cat burglar’ a new meaning.
The JBTALKS Facebook page recently shared CCTV footage of a man climbing a wall into someone’s porch before frantically stealing a cat in a cage by tossing it over the wall.

JBTALKS wrote, “A friend’s cat was stolen by a Malay man! In broad daylight! It was stolen!”
In the video showcased, the man could be seen climbing over a wall to enter the house’s compound. He then grabbed the cat cage, with the cat inside, before desperately throwing it over the wall and causing cat litter to fall all over him.
He then jumped back over the wall to escape.

This incident took place on Thursday (March 13) at around 10:48am.
Based on the timestamp on the CCTV footage, the man jumped into the porch at 10:48:01 before tossing the caged cat over the porch wall and escaping by 10:48:15. Everything happened within 15 seconds.
The owner wants their cat back
JBTALKS went on to urge the public to keep a lookout for the cat, though they do not have current pictures of the cat to share as it had just been shaved at the groomer’s.

“If you see the cat among Malay groups, please help to inform us! Thank you, everyone. There are no latest frontal pictures of the cat. I, myself, do not know why it was shaved. After shaving the cat, it was stolen when it was left outside. The (number plate of) car that stole the cat is JQU6250,” they added.
The car in question is a black or grey Perodua Bezza.

The cat is a 1-year-old male Persian and Maine Coon mix, with a blue collar that has a bell. While it was shaved, its head and tail were left unshaved and fluffy.
Should anyone have information about the cat, you can contact the owner via WhatsApp at 011-39715659.
