It’s no secret that you have to be at your boarding gate at least 30 minutes to 90 minutes (depending on the situation) before your flight.
It is also important to note that boarding time and departure time is different, and that the boarding gate tends to close 20 minutes before the departure time.
With that being said, a video has been circulating online, showcasing a passenger scolding on ground staff for not opening the boarding gate after he arrived 10 minutes before the departure time for his flight to Beijing; China, from KLIA2. Among those who shared the video was Reddit user, UsernameGenerik.
“We were by the gate 10 minutes before departure time and they closed the gate,” the video read.
In the video, the man recorded the on-ground staff as he scolded them for closing the gate and told them he’ll make this incident go viral. (Well, he did, but not in the way he wanted.)
He also recorded the on ground staff members’ tag numbers, which they openly displayed to the camera.
“What time is it now? 6:30 something, we were here already. 6:30 something and they’re not letting us go in. So, I’m sorry, this is their tag number, and this is your tag number, I have to make this go viral because this doesn’t make sense,” the man said.
The man did succeed in making this incident go viral, but it backfired on him.
Many pointed out that he was in the wrong for arriving at the gate literally only 10 minutes before the departure time.
