During tough times, people usually sell their used books, furniture, clothes and electronics. Have you ever heard of someone actually offering up his wife for sale on Facebook? Well, that’s exactly what this man did.

Astro Awani reported that an Indonesian man put up a Facebook post in which he said his wife was on sale for threesome services.

M. Amin Santoso (age 29) claimed that he had to do it because of his family’s financial problems. He has been married to his wife for 12 years.

“This is to pay for my two children’s schooling expenses,” said Amin when he was questioned by a reporter at the police headquarters in Surabaya on Monday (8th July).

Amin worked as a general labourer doing heavy lifting tasks, but the income from the job was not enough to sustain his family. His job only paid 50,000 Rupiah a day, which is equivalent to RM14.

He added that he usually receives financial aid but recently he did not get it.

Amin admitted that he was excited when he received an offer of 2,000,000 Rupiah (RM 586) in response to his Facebook post. His wife, who was also present at the police headquarters, confessed that she participated in his scheme because they were desperate for money.

Now, Amin faces legal action, while his wife has been released from custody.

Folks, there are many ways to earn money during hard times but selling your wife isn’t one of them.
