A horrifying incident took place in Pulau Tikus, Penang, where a man lost his life after his head got caught between elevator doors.
The Bagan Jermal Fire and Rescue Station took to their Facebook page to share the unfortunate news.
They wrote, “Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, it was found that there was a victim who had gotten caught in by the elevator doors by the head. At the same time, there was another victim trapped inside the elevator.”
“Fire and Rescue personnel worked together with the operator to raise the elevator manually to remove the trapped victim and used a duplicate key to rescue the victim trapped inside the elevator. The victim (whose head was) stuck had been confirmed dead by Ministry of Health personnel and has been handed over to PDRM for further action.”
According to a report by Harian Metro, the man who had lost his life was a 28-year-old maintenance worker who had gone to check the condition of the damaged elevator at a shopping complex in Jalan Burma yesterday (December 26).
