As is tradition during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period and most public holidays in Malaysia, there were massive traffic jams on major highways in our country as Malaysians flocked back to their hometown.
While there are many horror stories about the horrendous, including how some Malaysians found themselves stuck for a whopping 23 hours on the road, others would thank their lucky stars for these traffic jams saving them.
Chasing the express bus at Karak Highway
Take this man seen in this TikTok video for example. Going viral on the platform with over 536,800 views and more than 15,600 likes as of the time of writing, the video showed a man chasing after something on a Malaysian highway.
Shared by local personality and SelangorFM radio announcer DJ Yuyui on her TikTok account, the man, wearing all black, was jogging on the emergency lane of the highway as traffic was at a near standstill.
As it turns out, the man was actually chasing after the express bus visible in the distance after he was left behind at an R&R station.
Thankfully, the man managed to catch up with the express bus due to the traffic jam and can be seen boarding the bus at the very end of the video.
Based on the caption by DJ Yuyui, the incident took place on Karak Highway on Saturday (13 April). Furthermore, in the comments, she shared that the man was left behind because he allegedly went to the toilet.

Malaysians cheered for the happy ending
In the comments section, many Malaysians were simultaneously sympathetic and amused by the man’s predicament, though everyone cheered when he managed to catch up with the bus.
Many commenters said that the man was lucky that the traffic was at a near standstill as it meant that he was able to just jog to get back to the express bus.
Meanwhile, several commenters were amused at how a few motorcyclists could be seen on the emergency lane just as the man had entered the bus. If the motorcyclists were at the scene just a fraction earlier, they could’ve given the man a lift to the bus.
