There have been many, many discussions on whether there should be women’s coaches on Malaysian trains and the answer to that has always been yes, due to certain people being unable to keep their hands to themselves.
With that being said, should a man be allowed into a women’s coach because he has his daughters with him?
The CHAI HUAT TO TikTok page recently showcased a shouting match between a woman and a man on an MRT, after the woman had confronted him for being in the women’s coach.
CHAI HUAT TO wrote, “Malaysian trains ban men from women’s carriages. Uncle, you are downgrading yourself, walao eh.”
The shouting match started as the lady had confronted the man for being in the women’s coach.
But, the man ultimately felt that he deserved to be there because he had his daughters with him and believed that he had to leave his daughters behind in the women’s coach if he had to step out.
“Shut up! Shut up! Ask the police to catch me lah. Come, ask the police to catch me, I’ll stay here. Come, come. I dare you to call (the police),”
“You’re ridiculous, you know. My kids are so small and you’re asking me to leave my kids alone?”
The woman then said he could always leave (the women’s coach) with his daughters in tow, to which the man continued to shout at her.
“Call the police, just call the police to come,” he added.
It then appeared that the man was not only there with his daughters but also his wife.
Soon after, a staff member approached the man to calm him down. By then, the man and his family had stepped out of the women’s coach and stood at its border.
Many have since pointed out that there was no need for the man to be in the women’s coach as his wife could have stayed with their daughters (hence, not leaving them alone).
One netizen even pointed out that if the man’s mindset is upheld, he might think that he can also enter women’s washrooms along with his daughters.
