The government and the various ministries have recently received plenty of criticism in the way they managed the recent flash floods that devastated parts of the country. Some ministeries were even slammed for organising launching ceremonies to announce what they were going to do to help aid flood relief.

Recently, news that another ministry was having a grand ceremony for flood relief drew backlash on social media as users expressed their disapproval over the event.

A poster of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun as well as a picture of the event venue has been circulating on Facebook and Twitter.

Netizens are angry at her for taking part in such an event

The images did not go down well on social media as many netizens expressed their displeasure and disapproval over the event.

One user commented, “RINA HARUN! Stop with the ceremonies! Just go directly to the grassroots. Come on lah.”

“Instead of you wasting the rakyat’s money with this ceremony, it would be better to hand those funds over to other NGOs,” said a user.

Another netizen cursed at Rina Harun and said that the money would be better given to those who have been affected.

“When I read the news that Rina Harun is having a hotel ceremony for the funding of the flood victims, I prayed that she goes back to being overweight forever. It seems that the ministers are all racing to show their foolishness,” commented a netizen.
