The upper half of the Viva was totally destroyed after being crushed by the lorry. The female driver who was pinned under the wreckage unfortunately died on the spot.

The fire fighters received a distress call at 12.47pm and rushed to the scene, said Kuala Perlis Fire and Rescue Department station officer Marshahadi Mehad.

They managed to extricate the body of the Viva driver and another three victims who are two women and a man. They were rushed to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital.

The cause of this tragic accident is still being investigated and the lorry driver was apprehended by passersby before being handed over to the police.

Netizens were absolutely shocked by the state of the Perodua Viva post-accident. The Viva never stood a chance against the big heavy lorry, that’s why we should maintain a safe distance from lorries at all times,” a netizen said.

Anyway, we should let the investigation take its course and not make any speculation. We’d like to extend our sincerest condolences to the victim’s family.
