E-hailing is probably one of the most convenient concepts/applications ever invented.
With e-hailing apps, we come across drivers from different backgrounds and they include ones who have special needs as well.
Twitter user Efa Aziz took to her platform to share a heartwarming tale regarding a special needs driver that she met recently.
I naik Grab & the driver is Chinese umur dalam 60an. Dia buka radio yang mainkan lagu Melayu klasik. I baru nak tegur “eh uncle suka dengar lagu Melayu juga”. I takut silap, maybe dia pun Melayu. I check balik driver details & it stated there he’s deaf. Aaaaa my heart ?

On 22 September, Efa said that she took a Grab and the driver uncle was a Chinese man in his 60s. As soon as she got into the car, the driver then played some songs for her, classic Malay songs to be exact.
When Efa heard that, she got excited and wanted to ask the uncle on his music tastes.
“I wasn’t sure if he is Malay or Chinese, so I went to the driver’s details page to verify. However, I soon saw that it was stated that he is deaf.”
At that point of time, Efa felt really touched by how considerate the uncle was.
“Everyone is struggling to survive. This uncle is so strong for he is not allowing his disabilities to become an excuse for him to sit around and shake his legs.”
“I salute people like this. I hope that this uncle will always get customers”
This is such a heartwarming tale! We hope that this uncle will get more tips for being so hospitable! If you meet any special needs drivers/riders, remember to say thank you to them via text or by sign language!
