Malaysia has recorded 14 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 as of 4th March 2020. This marks the biggest jump in a day for our country.
The Ministry of Health said that Malaysia is entering its second wave of Covid-19.
The first wave consisted of infected people mostly from China and had a history of travels to China, whereas the second wave began with the 23rd case when most of the cases involved infections among locals.
“We are still in the early stages of containment where we know who and where the Covid-19 infections are. If we reach the last stage of containment, the MOH will change its strategy according to current needs,” said the Director General of Health.

Most of these new cases are close contact or linked to case 26.
The total number case in Malaysia so far is 50 with 22 had recovered and discharged.

So far, the Ministry of Health reported that 21 cases have been linked to case 26, UDA Holdings Bhd board member, Hisham Hamdan who was diagnosed with Covid-19 on 27th February. His case has been classified as a cluster case.
Of the 21 cases, 16 were close contacts of case 26 while the other five cases were second-generation infections.
This brings the total number of cases in Malaysia to 50, with 22 recovered and discharged.
Just yesterday (3rd March), seven patients were confirmed to be infected with Covid-19. These seven patients also had some link to case 26.
