China’s medical equipment delivery has safely arrived on our shores today (28 March). The delivery was handed to Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein by Bai Tian, China’s Ambassador to Malaysia.

According to NST, among the items received are 100,008 units of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Nucleic Acid Diagnostic Kit (PCR-Fluorescence Probing test kits; 100,000 pieces of N95 face masks; 500,000 pieces of surgical masks; 50,000 units of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); and 200 ventilators.

Datuk Seri Hishammuddin commented that the delivery is a sign of a strong partnership between two countries while Ambassador Bai Tian stated that the delivery is a gift to Malaysia which recognizes the close relationship between China and Malaysia. He also explained that it is also a sign of goodwill as Malaysia had also helped China during the initial outbreak in the country.
