To those who frequently visit Mont Kiara, Hannah Yeoh has a reminder for you when it comes to parking your vehicles.
“Park responsibly and make use of the facility”
In a Facebook post yesterday (February 4), the Youth & Sports Minister shared a few photos of a PDRM officer issuing summons to illegally parked cars along Jalan Kiara 5, near Verve Suites in Mont Kiara.

All cars were illegally parked by the roadside and according to Hannah, the fines were issued to avoid congestion along the narrow stretch.

Unfortunately, Jalan Kiara 5 is NOT the only area in Mont Kiara with traffic obstruction due to illegally parked cars. Late last year, an expatriate shared a similar and recurring incident of illegally parked vehicles near 1 Mont Kiara Mall and 163 Retail Park, which has since been rebranded to Sunway 163 Mall.
According to the expat, some drivers often leave their cars parked at the bus stop, causing inconvenience to the bus driver and the passengers, as well as other road users when the congestion happens thanks to the illegally parked cars.
As for Jalan Kiara 5, Hannah thanked the police officer for taking prompt action against the drivers who parked illegally in the area and urged others NOT to park by the roadside to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Hannah also reminded the people to make use of the Verve Suites parking facility, which only charges RM1.20 for the first hour. You can refer to the screenshot below for the parking rates in the building.

Next stop – Plaza Hartamas, 163 Mall, and other areas in Mont Kiara
Social media users thanked Hannah and the police officers for taking action but also took the opportunity to seek Hannah’s help to observe other areas in Mont Kiara, where drivers park their cars as they please without taking into consideration the inconvenience it could cause.
The areas mentioned include Plaza Hartamas, Jalan Kiara near Sunway 163 Mall, Jalan Desa Kiara, Publika, and others.

To those who are often in Mont Kiara, where else do you think is the hotspot for illegally parked cars?
