An expatriate, Anabelle Co-Martinent, took to her Instagram account to showcase how an Alphard was seen parked at a bus stop in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, on 2 separate occasions in one day, causing major inconveniences to buses, bus passengers and other road users.

She wrote, “Sigh. Another day, another Alphard blocking a bus.”

In her video, a RapidKL bus could be seen stopping on the main road instead of at the bus stop to allow passengers to disembark due to an Alphard parked there. It is important to note that there is another car parked at the bus stop, in front of the Alphard.

Considering it was raining, passengers who did not have umbrellas had to run towards the bus stop for shelter.

There was another Alphard parked at the next bus stop

As Anabelle continued to follow behind the bus, they reached the next bus stop where there was yet another Alphard and a Myvi parked there.

This caused the bus’s back end to jut out onto the road, forcing other vehicles to move around it.

While many condemned the drivers of the 2 Alphards, a netizen pointed out that the ones behind the wheels may not be the vehicle’s owners but drivers waiting on their bosses.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Anabelle shared her frustration of having to drive on that road on a daily basis, due to these drivers parking wherever they please.

“To all the drivers who are waiting for their bosses, please ask for a budget to park your cars properly inside a carpark. Your free parking at bus stops is causing inconveniences to a huge group of people, the bus drivers, the passengers and the other vehicles drivers being blocked and frustrated by the increased traffic,”

“Please do the right thing. Leave bus stops for buses. Let’s do our part in society to keep Mont Kiara and Kuala Lumpur a wonderful place to live in.”

Additionally, Anabelle believes that as a community, we should be able to speak to each other about these inconveniences.

“I drive past that road daily and it has gotten worse. Since when did bus stops become free parking spots? If people work together to remind each other to do the right thing, I’m sure we can improve the situation without having to resort to the authorities,” she explained.
