Travelling by airplane might enable you to travel long distances in a short amount of time but it doesn’t discount the fact that there is a long waiting time before catching the flight.

According to Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), passengers who are travelling during the peak travel season and festive period should arrive at KLIA at least 4 hours before the plane departs. This is applicable for both domestic and international flights in KLIA.

It is said that during the holiday season, there will usually be a “surge in passenger traffic” and arriving early can help passengers check-in, go through security and board with ease.

The aviation company added that KLIA Terminal 1 is upgrading its baggage handling system to increase operational efficiency.

“This upgrade is a crucial initiative to maintain and improve the overall airport infrastructure and the ongoing works may lead to additional processing time at various points within the airport.”

Other than that, the passengers are also advised to cooperate with both the airport and airline staff, reports BERNAMA.

MAHB is also appreciative of the passengers’ patience, “Malaysia Airports appreciates the understanding and patience of all passengers as these essential upgrades are implemented to ensure a safer and more efficient travel experience in the long run.”
