Coldplay is finally performing in Malaysia tonight (22 November) and ticket holders are shaking with excitement!
Though, unfortunately, for some; this marks a saddening event as they remember a deceased loved one who was a huge fan of Coldplay and was set to attend their concert in Kuala Lumpur, but had sadly passed away just days prior.
Taking to their Twitter page, Coldplay Malaysia shared a heartbreaking letter from a woman who is urging Coldplay to perform their song, Sparks, tonight at their KL stop in dedication to her sister who had lost her life recently.
Coldplay Malaysia wrote, “A letter to Coldplay, Georgia came to our fan meet-up event at Heli Lounge tonight (21 November). They were trying to get our attention and bring more awareness about what happened to one of their family members who recently just passed away.”
“Jade was a huge fan of Coldplay and maybe if the band can dedicate the song, Sparks, in loving memory of Jade, if would be very meaningful for their family.”
Here’s what was written in the letter from Jade’s sister, Georgia.
“Jade was a huge fan of Coldplay and was set to attend the Coldplay concert here in KL. She’s been a fan since she was 7-years-old and LOVES Coldplay so, so much. Unfortunately, she passed away on 2 November 2023, just 20 days before the concert was set to take place. She and her fiancé have been talking about this for months now and although she can’t be there, we are bringing her with us in anyway we possibly can!”
“Please help us and sing 1 last song for Jade. She loved the song, Sparks, it was her favourite. Even if we could just get her picture onscreen for 1 second, that would mean so, so much. I hope this finds you well and thank you,” she urged Coldplay.
We genuinely hope that Coldplay sees this letter in time and plays Jade’s favourite song in her memory.
To Jade’s family, our sincerest condolences.
