Some people will never learn their lesson. It’s bad enough to endanger yourself but it’s worse when you risk the lives of others in the things you do.
Sam Ke Ting’s accident which involved the life of multiple kids on Basikal Lajak should’ve been a huge lesson to all illegal racers but unfortunately, that’s not the case. Many Mat Rempits still find joy and adrenaline on the road, which has brought concern to many road users who are just trying to reach their destination safely.
Samantha (pseudonym) recently reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ and shared a clip showing the illegal racers happily performing dangerous stunts on the road. These illegal racers have been given the nickname “Superman” and based on the shared video, we guess they believe they are the red-caped superhero.
“I spotted these Mat Rempits on the North-South Expressway near the entrance to Tapah in Perak.”
Samantha also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the incident took place on February 18 (Sunday) around 3pm when her sister was driving, and she was in the passenger seat recording the incident.
In the video, a couple of riders were seen hogging the left lane while observing their “partners in crime” going Superman on their bikes. All the racers hogged both lanes for a bit as the race progressed, before most of them moved to the left lane, with some of them occupying the emergency lane.
We can only imagine the consequences if any of the drivers lost control of their car and accidentally hit the Supermen on bikes.
When asked about other drivers, Samantha told WORLD OF BUZZ that no one, including her sister, honked at the Mat Rempits. We guess the drivers didn’t want to escalate the issues and deal with unwanted consequences, in case it upset the racers.
Samantha was headed North during the incident, but she was unclear about where the Rempits were headed. You can watch the Supermen in action in the clip below.
Have you spotted any of these illegal racers on the highway recently? What will it take for them to finally learn their lesson about the dangers and consequences?
