Chua Jian Boon, the Special Officer (Chinese Affairs) to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, has purchased four sets of chairs for the Senai Health Clinic in Kulai, Johor. The initiative came after he was appalled by the dilapidated condition of the waiting area during a recent visit.
Sharing the experience on his Facebook page, Chua described visiting the clinic alongside the Johor Health and Environment EXCO, Ling Tian Soon. During the tour, they noticed that the waiting area was filled with broken chairs, some of which were precariously propped up with bricks.

A proactive approach to public safety
“During the visit, I found that the chairs in the waiting area were broken, and some even endangered public safety,” Chua wrote.
“Today, I took the initiative to buy and donate four sets of new chairs to the Senai Health Clinic so that Senai residents coming for treatment can wait in comfort and safety.”
Focusing on solutions
Rather than seeking someone to blame for the state of the facilities, Chua emphasised the importance of focusing on immediate solutions.

“This may not be a big deal, but change always starts with small things. We do not want to deny responsibility or argue over whether this is a Federal or State Government issue,” he stated.
“The important thing is that when we see a problem, we solve it. This is the brand of politics I believe in: less talk, more work. Bit by bit, we improve facilities and the comfort of the people, making Senai a better place for everyone,” he added.
