Skyscrapers are one of the easiest landmarks to remember about a place. While New York has its One World Trade Center which stands at 541 meters, we Malaysians have the KLCC Tower, which stands proudly at 1,483 feet.
Here’s what you probably are not aware of. KL is officially the city in Southeast Asia with the MOST number of skyscrapers – a whopping 241 tall infrastructures decorating the KL city alone.
Jakarta (165) and Bangkok (142) come in 2nd and 3rd, respectively, according to data released by Seasia Stats via its Instagram page @seasia.stats.
And that’s not even the best part.
The data shows a total of 35 cities, and 10 cities in Malaysia made it to the list! Penang and Johor Bahru are ranked 6th and 7th for the cities in SEA with the most skyscrapers, and Petaling Jaya stands at the 14th spot.
The Malaysian cities did not stop there.
Bentong, Pahang, and Malacca are listed in the 20th and 21st spots on the list, with Cyberjaya, Shah Alam, and Subang Jaya impressively ranked the 23rd, 24th, and 25th – 3 consecutive spots.
Putrajaya and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah “closed off” the Malaysian list at the 28th and 30th spot.
