People who are obese have higher risks to have severe symptoms if infected with Covid-19, says the Ministry of Health in a statement yesterday.
According to the Ministry of Health (KKM), as of 24 September 2021, 10.5 per cent of 24,565 deaths from COVID-19 infection in Malaysia suffered obesity problems. It also added that people who have obesity have seven times higher risks to get severe symptoms.

“Maintain the ideal weight by practising a healthy lifestyle like eating healthy, exercising at least 5 times a week, rest enough and no smoking,” the ministry urged the public.
Besides, it also added that the awareness to taking care of our health is our own responsibilities. As of 2 October 2021, there are a total of 26,565 Covid-19 deaths recorded in Malaysia. Please always take care of your health and safety, particularly at times like this!
