Many families are currently facing difficult times because the breadwinners are not working and their income has been cut short. A pair of husband and wife has won the hearts of many Malaysians with their generous act of kindness that helped the people around them. By donating tins of biscuits and bags of rice, this couple had made a difference in their community.
To help ease the circumstance as much as they could, a husband and wife pair decided to step forward and help out their community in Sarawak. According to a now viral Facebook post, the owners of a supermarket (who also happens to be husband and wife) have donated 50 packets of rice and 50 tins of biscuits for the people in their Bintulu community.
These donations were meant for the people who are affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO) from the 18th of March to 31st of March 2020. The post that went up on the 17th of March 2020 regarding the couple (who refused to reveal their shop’s name) has garnered over 7,000 shares and more than 19,000 reactions on Facebook.
Many netizens are very appreciative towards the couple’s kind gesture and wished them well!
The Facebook page that had posted the couple’s act of kindness also hoped that other shop owners would follow in their footsteps and donate to the people who really need it.
By helping the community around them, this couple proved that humanity still exists. It doesn’t take donations in huge amounts to help one another. We can also look out for each other in these critical times through social distancing and adhering to the MCO.
