Malaysia has a few law that stipulates one to avoid using mobile phones and spark igniting items while at the petrol station, because duh.
A horrifying video that was recently posted on Facebook by Mastura Ghazali Masra has gone viral and shocked many.
The video shows a white Proton Wira parked at a petrol kiosk in Kelantan. While a woman pumps petrol into the tank, the car abruptly bursts into flames, causing a panic at the station.
Coconuts KL has reported that apparently 7-year old, Shaifuddin was in the white Wira playing with a lighter while his mother’s pumps petrol into the car. It is seen just within seconds, fumes of the lighter catches on fire, creating a small explosion.
The mother immediately runs over to the other door to save her son, only to find it locked. She then runs back to the other side and successfully retrieves her son.
Petrol staffs can also be seen running about, and eventually putting the flames out with an extinguisher. Even from behind the screen, you can almost feel the panic and adrenaline of the mother.
The video on Facebook was shared more than 4,000 times and has 1.8 million views.
The poor boy is reported to suffer severe burns on his face and is currently being attended to at the Kota Bharu Hospital. This video clearly reminds parents to be more mindful of their kids at all times.
