A Nepalese man caused quite the scene in Pekan Jeniang, Kedah, yesterday morning (26 November), when he decided to kidnap a little 3-year-old girl and hold her by knifepoint.

Thankfully, the general public managed to step in, rescue the girl and subdue the man.

The CatsForPalestine Twitter page showcase footage of a crowd holding the Nepalese man down and beating him up after the incident.

They wrote, “At Pekan Jeniang earlier this morning (26 November). The general public stopped a foreigner from running off with a little kid. They said he had a knife on him. The one wearing the helmet and the bag pack is the girl’s father.”

According to a report by Kosmo, the little girl was allegedly left alone on her father’s motorcycle at a sidewalk while he was paying for breakfast at an eatery about 6 meters away.

The 26-year-old Nepalese man then rushed over to the girl and grabbed her off of the motorcycle before brandishing a knife to her neck.

“The suspect was found to be asking the victim’s father, who was in front of the suspect, for money to eat. The victim’s panicked father tried to calm his daughter down and persuaded the suspect to hand over the victim for about 2 to 3 minutes.”

“In an effort to find an opportunity of when the suspect’s guard was down, members of the public who also witnesses the incident managed to pull the suspect’s hand from behind and proceeded to apprehend him with the help of others as well as the victim’s father. The victim was then rescued,” shared Kuala Muda Regional Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan.

We’re so glad that the little girl managed to get out of the situation unharmed.
