Living near a river comes with its perks and challenges. It’s great to have the option of a refreshing swim whenever the Malaysian heat becomes unbearable, but it can also be troublesome when the river floods.
@thoushallsing reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ to share an incident about a flood that occurred at 7:30pm on May 10th in Taman Sri Langat, Kajang.
“Months worth provisions have been destroyed”
In the video, a group of locals from the neighbourhood can be seen stranded as their houses had been submerged in floodwater.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Mr. Wayne revealed how the entire neighbourhood had been submerged by floodwaters due to the overflowing of the Langat River, which is located right behind the neighbourhood.
“Immediate help is needed”
Mr. Wayne went on to say that as people were being evacuated because of the flood, he wanted to highlight the situation at Chasity Home, a place for underprivileged and elderly folks, which was hit hard.
He shared that the floodwaters destroyed all their bedding and furniture, leaving the residents of the centre in a really tough spot.
“They are now stranded without a place to live”
The caption of the post reads,
“Immediate assistance is needed! Residents of Taman Jalan Reko in Kajang have become flood victims due to flooding. Among the worst affected are residents of the Chasity Home Welfare Centre, which consists of disabled and elderly individuals! It’s time to help the needy.”
Mr. Wayne revealed that they’re currently staying somewhere temporary until further assistance is provided to them.
