On June 29, an accident occurred on Jalan Genting Highlands that caused 2 tourists to lose their lives.
According to Sinar Harian, a tour bus overturned on Kilometre 16.5 of Jalan Genting Highlands, Bentong.
The Deputy Director (Operations) of BOMBA Pahang, Ismail Abdul Ghani has said that the 2 victims were male tourists from China.
He also mentioned that the other passengers on the bus, namely the bus driver and 2 tour guides (who are all locals) along with 16 other tourists from China, were successfully rescued from the bus.
“The BOMBA received a call at 10:43 am and we sent a team over to the location for a rescue operation.”
RTM reports that the 2 victims were confirmed to have passed away on the spot and had to be pried out using rescue tools as they were stuck.
Their bodies were given to the police while those who were injured were brought to the hospital to seek medical treatment.
Authorities are still looking into the cause of this accident.
