It seems that many nations are gradually opening up, accepting travellers, and embracing the new “discovered” freedom as the pandemic turns into an endemic.
Following the recent declaration that a mask was no longer required when going outside in Singapore, they have stated that the mask requirements will be lifted and that members of the public will be given the option to wear a mask or not.
According to Channel News Asia, Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced that people in Singapore are ONLY required to wear a mask when on public transport as well as in healthcare facilities.
“Mask will still have to be worn on transportation modes such as the MRT, LRT and public buses. Indoor boarding areas such as MRT platforms included,” said Mr. Wong.
“Mask will be optional on private transportation modes such as taxis, school buses and private bus services.” said the Ministry of Health (MOH).
“Masks are still required on public transport and in healthcare facilities because they’re considered as “essential areas” where services are carried our in crowded spaces and are frequently used by vulnerable individuals,” said Mr. Wong.
