Now, this is something we really need in Malaysia.
Just yesterday (28 March), the Sultan of Johor made an announcement on Facebook which put a big smile on everyone’s faces because His Majesty is planning to open a hypermarket offering goods at lower market prices.
It’s heartwarming to know that although Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar is now in the Middle East, His Majesty is still thinking about the needs of the people. It was understood that the hypermarket would be a joint venture between the Sultan and a major player in the industry.
In fact, the hypermarket has guaranteed that the goods sold would be 10 per cent cheaper than the market price without jeopardising the quality of their products. This would tremendously reduce the burden of the poor, especially given the current situation in our country.
As of now, not much information could be obtained about this joint venture and His Majesty will further elaborate about it soon. The Royal Press Office also emphasised that helping the rakyat, especially the poor, will always be the Sultan of Johor’s main agenda and focus. Aww, always putting us first!
This news has garnered positive feedback from netizens with many praising the royal family for taking the initiative to help the people while some cheeky netizens said the hypermarket should be exclusive to Malaysians only, and not to foreigners.
Hopefully, this project can come to fruition and other states can follow suit. What do you think about this rakyat-friendly hypermarket? Tell us what you think in the comments!
