Aww, what a sweet gesture! ?
Our neighbouring country Singapore celebrated their National Day on Wednesday (9 August) and this year, the Immigration Department of Malaysia in Johor Bahru decided to treat its Singaporean counterpart with a surprise.
As shared by the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Immigration Department’s official Communications and Corporate Facebook page, the Deputy Chief of Immigration at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Puan Vimala presented a birthday cake to the Deputy Commander of Singapore’s Woodlands Checkpoint Tong Weijie.
The cake, nicely decorated with the Singapore flag and landmarks, was a gift from the Johor Bahru Immigration to celebrate Singapore’s 58th National Day on Wednesday.
The post shared two photos of Puan Vimala presenting the cake to Tong Weijie in front of the Woodlands checkpoint and a picture of the birthday cake.
The post added that Johor Bahru Immigration hoped for a good relationship between the two parties to continue and that both could maintain the safety of the land border between both countries.
What a sweet gesture! Maybe this should be a tradition from both sides of the Causeway for both our country’s national days.
