As the pandemic restriction eases, many countries are starting to open up, allowing tourists to visit.
While some countries remain hesitant to open up to tourists, just recently, Japan has released a list of countries that are exempted from applying a visa while visiting!
Yes, you guessed it right, Malaysia is included in the exempted list! Japan will be opening up its borders, welcoming tourists this October so take note party people!
Prior to this, tourists were required to book a guided tour when visiting Japan but according to prime minister, Fumio Kishida, this new rule that was designed to help curb the pandemic will be scrapped.
Before the pandemic, over 68 countries were able to enter Japan without a visa for up to 90 days but as the pandemic hit, Japan has closed its borders and ALL foreign travelers were required to apply for visa.
Due to high influx of visa applications, the Japan embassy officials have warned tourists to plan their trip ahead as the visa could take up to 3 weeks to be completed.
They’ve also mentioned that they will not process urgent visa applications unless it is with valid reasons. The Japan embassy has also stated that they will not be responsible for flight tickets, hotel bookings that may become unusable due to denial in applying for a visa.
So, remember folks, the restriction will be lifted on October 11 but we highly encourage you to wait it out for a few more days before planning ahead!
Plan well travelers!
