To those who have caught up with the Superman movie, you’re likely aware that one of the scenes shown in the trailer was removed.
That’s right. We’re talking about the iconic kissing scene between Superman and Lois Lane as both levitated in the air.

The scene was shown in most trailers and TV spots that Warner Bros had released, and at the time of writing, FINAS and the Malaysian Film Censorship Board (LPF) have yet to respond to the matter. Malaysian cinemagoers, however, are not the only ones who don’t get to see the duo sharing a kiss mid-air on the big screen. The scene was also removed from cinemas in India.
The scene was cut as it was labelled “overly sensual” in India, reported People.

In case you missed it, the kissing scene before Clark Kent (Superman’s alter ego) was interviewed by Lois Lane at her house was also partially cut. Despite the cut scenes, they did not affect the storyline at all, and the film is as fun as it gets.
“They had more kissing scenes in the movie, but why this?”
Malaysian cinemagoers, however, were baffled as to why the kissing scenes were removed, especially the mid-air scene near the end of the movie. Social media users expressed their dissatisfaction in a viral Reddit post.

In another “cut scene” that may upset fans, a scene involving Guy Gardner (Green Lantern) showing his middle finger to the enemies during the fight between Boravia and Jarhanpur, which was shown in the trailers, was also removed.
What do you think of the cut scenes?
