The Elmina plane crash shocked all Malaysians on the day that it took place and many of us are still feeling sad over what had transpired.
However, it is unimaginable what the families of the deceased must be going through right now.
It was reported by BERNAMA that Shahrul Kamal Roslan, the pilot of the plane that crashed that day, had shared his wife’s contact number with a colleague even when he had never done so before.
Shahrul Kamal’s brother-in-law Syed Tahir Syed Mohamad, 39, had said that the deceased had given his wife’s contact number to a colleague named Captain Halim and asked him to contact her should anything happen to him.
“Before this, Shahrul Kamal never shared his wife’s phone number. Halim was also surprised when the deceased did that, maybe he could feel something was going to happen.”
Elaborating further, Syed Tahir Syed Mohamad mentioned that Captain Halim was the first one who told them about the crash. He added that his brother-in-law has always been a very loving and jovial person who is liked by everyone and a very efficient pilot.
Suhaila Akasha, 46, the wife of another victim, Shaharul Amir Omar, 49, said that she sensed that something unfortunate had happened to her husband when she heard the news.
“When I heard the news, my heart couldn’t stop pounding. My instinct as a wife was strong although no one told me that my husband was on the plane.”
Grief, anger and sadness are probably just a few of the emotions that the families of the victims are going through. May the victims rest in peace, thoughts and prayers go out to their families.
