A combination of fun and fantasy, Funtasy House Trick Art is a two-storey shophouse 3D-trick art gallery that opened in Ipoh back in 2015. This art house is filled with over 30 mind-boggling paintings all made entirely by local artists. It even has upside-down rooms and themes that would look good on anyone’s feed!

2. Ipoh Art Murals
If you love taking photos with street art, then Ipoh is a place you must consider. The town is scattered around with many mural art trails reflecting on cultural events and the identity of Ipoh Town. Some of the paintings were done by the famous Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic who is famed for many of Penang’s street art. Also, there are many local artists involved in these art murals as well. That said, although there are plenty of them, not all of them are easy to spot. Some are hidden in small alleys and narrow streets of the town.

3. Kong Heng Square
One of the must-see spots for good photos? Kong Heng Square that’s nestled amidst Ipoh town! Locals are proud of this location as it is now a major attraction among both locals and foreigners where they come to enjoy its unique and atmospheric environment. The artisan market sets up many booths and small shops selling handicrafts and art decor, whereas a number of hipster cafes are also opened around the area. Kong Heng Square has been revitalised with a rustic blend of old and new architecture along with shandy trees, giving an ideal photo-worthy spot for Instagrammers.

4. Gunung Lang Recreational Park
If you’re a nature lover, then you should not miss going to Gunung Lang in Ipoh. This place is a tourist spot and is famous for its beautiful green scenery. Landscapes are beautiful here! The main attraction of Taman Rekreasi Gunung Lang is the man-made cascading waterfall atop a limestone hill, which is a 2km boardwalk over the swamp and lookout towers. Not to forget, there are also boat rides, traditional houses, and a mini zoo right here.

5. Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village
This place is a hidden gem that offers lots of photo opportunities! Plus, there’s a scenic lakeside that gives you that vibe of being in China when in reality, you’re in Ipoh! This village has an abundance of vintage art murals and paintings, giving it a nostalgic charm. The man-made village is built around a green lake partially surrounded by limestone hills and caves. Aptly, its name means “serene hill” in Mandarin. There are also many outdoor activities you can do here, such as bicycle riding, picnics, camping and fish feeding. Of course, there’s plenty of spots to take stunning photos too!

Many visitors call this place the mini i-City of Ipoh (just like the one in Shah Alam!). What’s more, there’s also a row of restaurants facing the river, thus offering a scenic view while you dine with your beau. So romantic!
7. Jeff’s Cellar, The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat
