Day by day, Malaysians have stepped up to the plate showcasing just how kind-hearted they are by lending a helping hand while the nation is weathering the Covid-19 storm.
With some making face shields to be given to frontliners, helping prepare make-shift facilities for the homeless or giving out food for those in need, the actions by these certain few individuals have become an inspiration for others to follow suit.
And this is one of those videos.
Netizen @DenciShahrizal shared a video showcasing how his kind friend Simon Leong, decided to donate his produce to the people of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Taking to Twitter, @DenciShahrizal writes, “My friend Simon Leong made the decision of not throwing away his produce but to donate it to the people of Kota Kinabalu.”
“Not only that. He was also amongst the earliest to gather the produce of small farmers to be given to frontliners.”
In his thread, he also adds that big companies such as Desa Highland were also more than willing to give out vegetables instead of throwing them away.
“They too help small farmers in providing delivery services from their farms to Kota Kinabalu to ensure that their income is not disrupted by the Movement Control Order.”
Truly commendable, let’s hope that the actions of these selected few will be an inspiration for others out there.
We know that there are many out there who are affected by the spread of the coronavirus and MCO in place. Let’s hope that with everybody’s compliance, the control order will soon be lifted and everything will go back to what it used to be.
