In case you’re not aware, Bangsar is a femes spot for snatch theft cases to happen.

On June 19, a Malaysian lady named Vivianne became the latest victim to yet another snatch theft incident in Bangsar. Although the victim was vigilant, it didn’t deter the snatch thieves from attempting the crime.

Here’s what happened.

“At around 4.30pm today, I was walking to my car parked near to Hong Leong Bank in Telawi area. There was a Ramadan bazaar down the street and plenty of people walking around.”

The lady took a shortcut and walked through the alley opposite of Coffee Coffea with her handbag slung across her body.

“I heard a motorbike coming from behind me. All of the sudden, I was pushed from the back and fell forward on my chest. It happened so fast that I had no time to react.”

“The snatch thief rode past me and tried to grab my bag but failed as the bag strap didn’t snap.”

Luckily, Vivianne sustained only light injuries such as bruises and scratches on her forehead, hands and knees.

“I fell right beside a car and the driver (with kids inside the car) witnessed the whole incident. He quickly came out to help me while another guy standing at the nearby shop could only look at me with no reaction.”

“I told the driver not to leave me alone as I was afraid the riders would turn back to finish the job. The driver helped me into his car and drove off to pick up his wife.”

The good Samaritan then sent Vivianne to the police station to file a report.

“The inspector said there are at least 8 cases a day (of snatch theft) in Bangsar/Brickfields zone alone! I’ve always read it on the news and Facebook but I’ve never thought it would happen to me.”

So guys, you heard what she said, 8 cases a day is no joke man! Please be vigilant and avoid taking shortcuts as snatch thieves love lurking at such places. We wish Vivianne a speedy recovery from her injuries.
